Senior Business Analyst (Data Protection)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven professional to join our Data Governance team. In this role, you will lead and support key initiatives in Data Security Risk Management, Personal Data Protection, and Enterprise Data Governance.
You will work closely with business, technology, and external stakeholders to strengthen data governance practices, manage data-related risks, and ensure compliance with data protection requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys translating policy into practice and driving organization-wide data governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Protection
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct programmes, assessments, and initiatives related to Data Security Risk Management and Personal Data Protection.
- Drive continuous improvement of data governance and data protection practices through research, analysis, and impact assessments.
- Define, monitor, and report success metrics for governance programmes and initiatives.
Data Sharing & Risk Management
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to establish and govern data sharing arrangements.
- Ensure data is accessed, used, and shared appropriately with suitable data protection safeguards in place.
- Support Enterprise Data Risk Management activities and data risk assessments.
- Support data incident management, reporting, investigation, and resolution processes.
Policy, Standards & Compliance
- Review, develop, and enhance data governance policies, standards, frameworks, procedures, and guidelines.
- Drive awareness and adoption of governance requirements across the organization.
- Guide business units in integrating data protection, privacy, and security requirements into day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the primary liaison for data protection and data security-related enquiries and submissions involving government agencies and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management & Advisory
- Provide advisory support to stakeholders on data governance, data protection, and data security matters.
- Communicate complex governance and regulatory requirements in a clear and practical manner.
- Collaborate across business and technology teams to address governance challenges and improve data management practices.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Management, Law, Information Management, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
Experience
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Data governance, data protection, or data security programmes; Development of policies, standards, frameworks, processes, and governance guidelines; Information and records management, including: Information lifecycle management; Data modelling; Master data management; Risk assessments, IT audits, or business audits; Data incident handling, investigation, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications
The following would be advantageous:
- Professional certifications in: Data Governance; Data Protection / Privacy; Cybersecurity; Incident Management; Data Analytics / Business Analytics; Data Science
- Experience developing, interpreting, or complying with Singapore Government IM8 policies.
- Experience in Data Security and/or Cybersecurity domains.
