The incumbent will lead the discovery, analysis, documentation and validation of business needs, translate those needs into clear functional requirements, and help ensure that delivered solutions create measurable operational value.
Working in a complex distribution environment, the Senior Business Analyst will support enterprise applications, ERP initiatives, process improvement, data and reporting needs, integrations, business transformation and acquisition-related activities. The role requires strong facilitation, stakeholder management and analytical capabilities, along with the judgement to balance business value, user experience, risk, cost, timing and technical feasibility.

Responsibilities:

Build trusted relationships with business leaders, subject-matter experts, project teams, vendors and IT delivery teams across Canada and the United States.
Lead discovery workshops, interviews and working sessions to clarify business objectives, current-state challenges, desired outcomes, constraints and success measures.
Analyse and model end-to-end business processes, including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, inventory, warehousing, sales, customer service, finance and related supporting functions.
Document current-state and future-state processes, business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, use cases, process maps, data needs, business rules, acceptance criteria and traceability.
Challenge, validate and prioritise requests by distinguishing root causes from symptoms and mandatory needs from preferences.
Assess solution options and prepare recommendations that consider business benefits, cost, effort, risk, dependencies, scalability and organisational readiness.
Partner with solution architects, developers, functional analysts, data teams and vendors to ensure proposed solutions remain aligned with approved business requirements.
Support project estimation, planning, scope control, dependency management, risk identification and decision tracking.
Define test strategies and scenarios; coordinate system, integration and user acceptance testing; manage defects; and obtain evidence-based business sign-off.
Develop implementation, cutover and post-implementation support plans in collaboration with project and operational stakeholders.
Contribute to change impact assessments, stakeholder communications, training needs and user adoption activities.
Analyse operational and system data to identify inefficiencies, trends, control gaps and improvement opportunities; define practical KPIs where appropriate.
Support ERP modernisation, application enhancements, integrations, master-data improvements, reporting initiatives and M&A integration activities.
Maintain clear, timely communication on requirements, decisions, risks, issues, priorities and expected outcomes.
Coach other analysts and promote consistent business analysis methods, templates, quality standards and continuous improvement.
Approve business cases, requirements packages and process documentation that are complete, clear, testable and traceable.

Create solutions that address the agreed business need and are accepted by users through structured validation.

Timely identification and escalation of scope gaps, risks, dependencies, data issues and change impacts.

Sustainable process improvements supported by defined ownership, controls, documentation and measurable outcomes.

Create high stakeholder confidence through strong facilitation, transparency, sound judgement and reliable follow-through.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive business analysis experience in complex, cross-functional environments.
Demonstrated experience on major ERP, enterprise application, process transformation or systems integration initiatives.
Strong experience eliciting and managing requirements with multiple senior and operational stakeholders.
Experience in distribution, wholesale, supply chain, logistics, finance or customer-service operations is strongly preferred.
Experience with ERP migration or modernisation is strongly preferred; M&A integration experience is an asset.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French are required to collaborate with internal teams, external vendors and suppliers.
Advanced business process modelling, requirements elicitation, facilitation, root-cause analysis and solution assessment skills.
Strong understanding of project delivery life cycles, Agile and traditional delivery approaches, testing practices and change management.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools. Experience with Visio, Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Jira or similar tools is desirable.
Ability to simplify complex topics and prepare concise decision material for executives, managers, operational users and technical teams.
Strong organisation, prioritisation, negotiation, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, handle multiple priorities and influence without direct authority.
Customer focus, attention to detail, curiosity, collaboration and a proactive change-leadership mindset.

Working / Other Conditions:

Hybrid work model, subject to business requirements.
Indoor office environment with extended periods of computer, telephone and virtual-meeting use.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and support activities outside regular hours when required for implementations or critical business events.
