Senior Business Analyst - Investment Banking

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with expertise in Compliance Trade Surveillance in the Investment Banking sector to serve as a liaison connecting business operations with IT functions. The successful candidate will examine business workflows, collect requirements, and develop practical solutions that support strategic objectives while maintaining compliance standards and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Identify necessary IT business solutions and support their rollout
• Perform requirements-gathering tasks utilizing both internal and external data sources, such as stakeholder interviews
• Develop practical software solutions to tackle business challenges while keeping the strategic future state model in mind
• Create functional solutions backed by comprehensive data analysis
• Serve as the main point of contact linking business users and the technology team throughout all phases of project implementation
• Support quality control efforts and project management tasks

Requirements

• 7-10 years of IT experience overall, including several years designing and developing enterprise software within distributed environments in the financial services sector, ideally involving investment banking and compliance-focused projects
• Knowledge of capital markets along with familiarity with asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and associated derivative products
• Background working with compliance trade surveillance tools such as SMARTS, Trading Hub, and Actimize
• Proficiency in applying business analysis methods, including translating technical requirements into effective solutions
• Competence in data analysis and querying, including writing SQL queries, to support requirements gathering
• Exposure to Cloud platforms, Azure preferred, particularly regarding Data Ingestion, Data Cleansing, and Data Egress
• Knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including prior experience serving as a Scrum Master
• Ability to produce clear, concise, and comprehensive requirements and functional design documents to professional standards
• Excellent verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to adjust communication style based on audience
• Enthusiasm for technology and the development of IT systems and applications
• Adaptability to collaborate effectively across varied teams, functions, and cultures
• Demonstrated collaborative approach to resolving issues and readiness to work beyond defined role boundaries to achieve desired results
