Senior Business Analyst - Investment Reporting & Analytics

An established financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the enhancement and delivery of front-office investment reporting and analytics capabilities.

Working closely with investment, portfolio management, risk and technology teams, you will play a key role in translating complex investment reporting requirements into practical data and technology solutions.
This is an opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of investment markets, portfolio analytics and derivatives reporting who can bridge the gap between investment stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with front-office investment teams to understand business requirements across investment reporting, analytics and portfolio management.
• Gather, document and translate complex investment requirements into functional specifications, user stories and process designs.
• Support the development and enhancement of investment reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Work across portfolio reporting, stress testing, liquidity reporting and investment performance analytics.
• Analyse reporting requirements relating to Total Return Swaps (TRS), derivatives and other complex investment instruments.
• Work closely with data, technology and development teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
• Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent and aligned with investment stakeholder requirements.
• Support data mapping, validation, reconciliation and UAT activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and investment analytics capabilities.

About You You will be an experienced Business Analyst with a background in investment management, superannuation, funds management or institutional financial services.

You will bring:

• Proven Business Analysis experience within investments, superannuation or funds management, delivering front-office investment reporting and analytics across investment performance, portfolio exposure, risk, stress testing and liquidity.
• Strong knowledge of Total Return Swaps (TRS), OTC derivatives and complex financial instruments, including associated reporting, collateral and counterparty exposure requirements.
• Hands-on experience with BlackRock Aladdin, particularly across investment data, portfolio analytics and risk reporting.
• Experience with investment data and platforms including GoldenSource, Ortec PEARL and BlackRock eFront, covering investment data management, performance attribution and private markets.
• Strong understanding of institutional investment environments, with the ability to engage effectively with Portfolio Managers, Investment Analysts, Risk and Technology stakeholders.
• Proven capability in requirements gathering, translating complex investment requirements into functional specifications, and supporting technology delivery, system enhancements and reporting transformations.
• Technical capability across SQL, data analytics and reporting technologies, including validating and interpreting complex investment data.
