Senior Business Analyst

The Role

Following the recent successful appointment of Business Analysts over the past six months, Millpond continues to experience strong client demand. We're now looking to add another Senior Business Analyst Consultant to our Christchurch team as part of our ongoing growth.

Millpond is a Christchurch-based consultancy specialising in Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management, Quality Assurance, and Consulting. Since 2011, the team has built a reputation for delivering practical outcomes, trusted advice, and lasting client relationships.

As a Senior Business Analyst Consultant, you'll quickly establish credibility with clients, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and lead business analysis engagements from discovery through to delivery. You'll work across a diverse range of projects, helping organisations solve problems, improve performance, and deliver meaningful change.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety and thrives in new environments. One engagement might involve shaping a business case, the next mapping operational processes, and another supporting a major technology transformation. Success at Millpond comes from being able to adapt quickly, build trusted relationships, and confidently add value in new environments.

While strong business analysis fundamentals are essential, success in this role comes from your ability to build relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and create confidence with clients. You'll be someone who can quickly understand a situation, engage stakeholders at all levels, and help organisations move forward with clarity and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst Consultant, you will:

• Deliver high-quality business analysis outcomes across multiple client engagements

• Facilitate stakeholder engagement that drives clarity, alignment, and decision-making

• Translate business challenges into practical and actionable solutions

• Build trusted relationships with executives, operational teams, and technical stakeholders

• Contribute to successful project outcomes through sound analysis and consulting expertise

• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to Millpond's ongoing capability growth

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Proven experience delivering successful business analysis outcomes in complex business and technology environments

• The ability to quickly build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders

• Strong consulting instincts, commercial awareness, and professional judgement

• Experience working across multiple projects, clients, or changing business environments

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills

• A genuine interest in continuous learning, innovation, and improving client outcomes

You'll likely have around five or more years of Business Analysis experience, although Millpond is more interested in capability, maturity, and impact than an arbitrary number of years.
