About the role:
MTC is developing a significant portfolio of strategic and digital change. The Senior Business Analyst role provides dedicated business analysis capability for high-priority enterprise projects, with particular focus on our Digital Transformation projects.
Forming part of the Enterprise Projects & Change Function and reporting to the National Manager, Program Delivery, the Senior Business Analyst role is intended to provide expertise in requirements gathering, current-state assessment, process redesign, system implementation, testing, business readiness and benefits realisation.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions with stakeholders
Elicit, analyse, document and validate business requirements
Translate business needs into clear requirements for project teams, vendors and implementation partners
Support prioritisation of requirements based on business value, risk and implementation complexity
Document current-state processes, pain points, gaps and improvement opportunities
Design future-state processes in consultation with operational and functional stakeholders
Identify process risks, duplication, inefficiencies and control gaps
Support implementation of systems such as Workforce Management, HRIS and Payroll system enhancements.
Participate in configuration workshops and solution design discussions
Assist with data, reporting, integration and migration requirements
Prepare business analysis artefacts, briefing papers, process maps, decision papers and project documentation
Maintain requirements registers, action logs, decision logs and supporting project records
Support project governance reporting by providing analysis, updates and documentation
Build strong relationships with operational leaders, functional leads, project teams and subject matter experts
Facilitate consultation and feedback activities
Support Change Managers with change impact assessments, communication inputs, training needs analysis and readiness planning
Key experience:
Significant business analysis experience, preferably in enterprise systems & digital transformation programs.
Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting and validating business requirements
Experience mapping current-state and future-state processes
Experience supporting system implementation projects, including configuration, testing, UAT and business readiness
Experience working with vendors, technology teams and operational stakeholders
Experience producing high-quality documentation, process maps, requirements registers, traceability matrices and governance materials
Experience working across complex environments with multiple stakeholder groups and competing priorities
Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking capability
Excellent written communication and documentation capability
Ability to translate complex business needs into clear requirements and practical process designs
Business analysis certification such as IIBA, CBAP, CCBA or equivalent (desirable)
Project management, process improvement, Agile, Lean or change management certification (desirable)
