Senior C++ Engineer
Summary
Adaptiq (an R&D team-building/staff augmentation hub) is hiring a Senior C++ Engineer, fully remote from Ukraine, to work on a core area of a client's complex B2B software product. Day to day: designing, building, and maintaining features in modern C++, owning the full dev lifecycle, contributing to architecture, testing, and performance, and using AI-assisted dev tools.
⚙️ Senior C++ Engineer: Own the Core of a Product the World Relies On
The challenge:
Behind every great B2B product is a core that has to be fast, stable, and clean, release after release. This one is a complex system of interconnected services and components, used by customers across international markets, and it keeps evolving as the company grows.
You won't be a cog in the machine. You'll be one of the engineers who decides how the machine is built.
Your role:
Join an experienced team working on a core area of the product. You'll take features from the first conversation about requirements through design, implementation, testing, and delivery, then keep improving them. High ownership, real technical influence, and colleagues who raise the bar rather than lower it.
What you'll do:
Design, build, and maintain high-quality software in modern C++
Ship new functionality and make existing solutions better
Own features end-to-end across the full development lifecycle
Turn complex requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions
Hunt down tricky bugs and get to the root cause
Push performance, reliability, and quality forward
Take part in architecture discussions and technical decisions
Write automated tests and keep coverage meaningful
Review code and help set engineering standards
Improve builds, workflows, and automation
Document what matters, without writing novels
Use AI-assisted tools for coding, debugging, and research
What you bring:
7+ years of professional software development
Strong, hands-on modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or newer)
A track record of production-grade software
Solid grasp of architecture and OOP design principles
Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and memory management
Skill at diagnosing complex issues and finding root causes
Understanding of performance and optimization techniques
Experience with modern build systems, testing, version control, and automation
A real care for quality, maintainability, and best practices
Hands-on daily use of AI-assisted development tools
Strong English, and the ability to work independently within a distributed team
Bonus points:
✦ Experience with languages beyond C++
✦ Work on large, technically complex products
✦ Designing reusable components or internal developer tools
✦ Improving build, test, or development processes
✦ Environments where reliability and performance really matter
✦ Collaboration with multiple engineering and product stakeholders
If you like hard problems, real ownership, and code that lasts, let's talk.
