Senior C++ / Java Developer

In this role you design, develop, and deliver robust C++ and Java software for a defined product area, owning medium-to-large components. You collaborate with architects, product managers, and delivery teams to translate requirements into solid designs and high‑quality code. You mentor junior engineers and contribute to solution design and delivery excellence within the LSEG architecture and standards. You’ll work on scalable, observable systems that impact client outcomes and platform stability.

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ and Java applications and services
• Implement changes to improve platform stability, scalability, and client outcomes
• Collaborate with product owners and senior engineers to translate requirements into technical designs
• Build solution-level extensions aligned with LSEG architectural principles and design patterns
• Escalate architectural concerns and complex design decisions as needed
• Take technical ownership of key components or subsystems ensuring quality and test coverage
• Contribute to maintainable, well-documented codebases across C++ and Java
• Support full lifecycle delivery including estimation, development, testing, release, and production support
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across development, QA, and production, including performance and concurrency
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to drive continuous improvement
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers in C++/Java best practices and patterns
• Ensure adherence to SDLC standards and engineering controls

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in C++ and Java
• Proven track record delivering medium‑ to large‑scale systems
• Strong object‑oriented design, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and memory management
• Experience with distributed systems, messaging, APIs, and inter-service communication
• Familiarity with Linux, build tools, version control, and automated testing frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD, performance tuning, and observability
• Exposure to cloud platforms and open‑source technologies in enterprise environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence technically without authority
