Senior Care Staff (House of Joy)
Job Summary
As Senior Care Staff at House of Joy (HOJ), you will lead active ageing programmes, mentor Care Staff, oversee centre operations, and connect isolated seniors to support, enriching their daily lives with joy and purpose.
Responsibilities
1. Programme Delivery
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of active ageing programmes and community events to enhance seniors' engagement and wellbeing
- Adapt programme activities to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of seniors for inclusive participation
- Manage event operations from initial planning through post-event evaluation to ensure smooth execution and continuous improvement
2. People & Team Development
- Mentor Care Staff to develop their facilitation and engagement skills for effective programme delivery
- Support the Centre Manager in implementing new initiatives and fostering team development
3. Centre Operations
- Act as centre-in-charge in the Centre Manager's absence, overseeing daily operations and escalating safety issues to the Director of Care Services
4. Community Engagement
- Collaborate with service providers, volunteers, and community partners to maximize programme impact
- Identify isolated seniors through community outreach and connect them to appropriate care and support services
5. Administration
- Maintain accurate records of programmes and participant engagement to support data-driven improvements
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or higher in social work, community development, gerontology, psychology, nursing, education, or related fields
- Minimum 3 years of experience in eldercare settings demonstrating effective programme delivery and senior engagement
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple programmes and events efficiently
- Effective communication skills to engage seniors, colleagues, and community partners
- Proficiency in computing to maintain records and support programme administration
- Collaborative team player with ability to guide colleagues, volunteers, and partners
- Openness to learning and adapting to new systems and technology
- Genuine passion for enriching seniors’ lives with a positive and cheerful attitude
