Join QIAGEN as a Senior Category Buyer on a 6-month contract, where you will play a key role in delivering procurement excellence across Professional Services and Indirect Categories. In this position, you will lead end-to-end sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and support the execution of global category strategies at a local level. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact across categories including HR services, marketing, communications, agency partners, and events.
Your tasks include
- Execute global and regional sourcing strategies while managing local procurement activities for assigned indirect spend categories.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing projects, including spend analysis, market research, supplier identification, RFQs/RFPs, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Build and manage strong supplier partnerships, driving performance, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective, value-focused procurement solutions.
- Conduct market and supplier benchmarking to identify savings opportunities, mitigate risks, and support procurement KPIs.
- Support the development, implementation, and execution of category strategies aligned with QIAGEN’s procurement governance and processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, transparency, stakeholder experience, and operational excellence.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- 4–5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably within Professional Services and Indirect Categories.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier management, contract negotiations, sourcing events, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global, matrixed, and cross-functional environment.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
