Salary: $900 - $1100 p.d.
Senior CIAM Software Engineer / Technical Lead
We are seeking an experienced Senior CIAM Software Engineer to lead the hands-on implementation of large-scale consumer identity and access management solutions within a complex Federal Government environment.
This is a senior technical position combining software engineering, solution design and team leadership. You will tackle complex identity challenges, maintain high development standards and mentor engineers across the team.
The opportunity:
- Initial 18-month contract with the possibility of extension

- Positions available across Victoria, NSW, Queensland and the ACT
- Hybrid working arrangements
- Australian citizenship is mandatory
- Candidates must hold or be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the technical implementation of complex CIAM solutions
- Develop high-quality, maintainable software using JavaScript and TypeScript
- Perform code reviews and establish strong engineering practices
- Troubleshoot complex technical and integration issues
- Contribute to solution design, estimation, refinement and delivery planning
- Mentor and upskill engineers within the team
- Integrate CIAM solutions with other applications, platforms and services
- Explore emerging technologies and AI-assisted development approaches
What we are looking for:
- Advanced object-oriented programming skills with extensive JavaScript and TypeScript experience
- Strong unit and integration testing capability, including experience with frameworks such as Jest
- Extensive experience implementing complex CIAM solutions
- Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
- Experience customising and integrating CIAM products such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock or Ping
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and supporting a collaborative technical environment
- Experience configuring SaaS CIAM services will be highly regarded
- Cloud-based microservices experience across AWS, Azure or GCP will also be beneficial
