Senior Cisco Network Engineer | 3-Month Contract | Wellington Wellington / Hutt Valley | 3-Month Contract | 40 Hours Per Week

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cisco Network Engineer to support a short-term infrastructure engagement across the Wellington and Hutt Valley region.

This is a hands-on role focused on network rollout, auditing and support across Cisco switching, wireless and associated infrastructure. There is also a telephony component, so exposure to Cisco UC or broader telephony environments would be highly advantageous.

The Role You’ll be responsible for:
  • Assisting with the rollout of Cisco switches and wireless access points
  • Auditing hub rooms, switches and network infrastructure
  • Supporting a backlog of telephony tickets
  • Assisting with wireless surveying and general network troubleshooting
  • Providing hands-on support across a busy infrastructure environment
Technical Experience We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience across:
  • Cisco Catalyst 9200 and 9300 switching
  • Cisco 9100 Wireless APs and WLC
  • Wireless surveying
  • FortiGate firewalls – light experience is sufficient
  • Cisco enterprise networking environments
Telephony experience would be a strong advantage, particularly:
  • Cisco Unified Communications (UC)
  • Nortel
  • Siemens
You don’t need experience across all telephony platforms, but any hands-on UC or voice experience will be highly regarded.

About You You’ll be a confident, hands-on network engineer who can quickly get up to speed and work effectively across rollout and BAU support activities. You’ll be comfortable working onsite across the Wellington and Hutt Valley region and able to work independently when required.

This is an initial 3-month contract, expected to be approximately 40 hours per week, with an ASAP start anticipated.
