This role supports the financial management and operational performance of a diverse client portfolio.
You will take ownership of project accounting activities, financial reporting, forecasting, invoicing, and month-end close processes.
The position combines detailed financial analysis with client-facing collaboration and cross-functional partnership.
You will work closely with project leaders and finance teams to ensure budgets, revenue, costs, milestones, and contractual requirements remain aligned.
Your analysis will help identify discrepancies, improve financial visibility, and support sound commercial and operational decisions.
The role also provides opportunities to mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements across the finance function.

Accountabilities:
- Support monthly project accounting activities, including financial tracking, project updates, and selected status meetings with project managers.
- Review and reconcile new projects by verifying signatures, revenue types, Salesforce information, milestones, tasks, and intercompany amounts, following up on discrepancies as needed.
- Review and reconcile change orders, budget adjustments, carve-outs, and project milestones while maintaining accurate financial trackers.
- Set up new clients in accounting systems and supporting files, including mapping employees to billable rates and reviewing Master Service Agreements for rebates and discounts.
- Review intercompany revenue and cost transactions, maintain shared financial trackers, and support intercompany contract execution.
- Review cost allocations against project budgets and coordinate scope changes with finance teams and project leaders.
- Assist with revenue recognition for project revenues, ensuring compliance with client contracts and accurately capturing new awards and out-of-period revenue.
- Prepare monthly project revenue forecasts and analyze variances against budgets and plans.
- Review project hours and expenses against forecasts, budgets, assigned roles, and billing rates, investigating discrepancies where required.
- Prepare and review client invoices in accordance with contractual requirements and follow up on past-due balances; maintain invoicing waterfalls where applicable.
- Review and submit monthly client accruals and consolidate accrual information across relevant business entities.
- Review business development opportunities in Salesforce and ensure accurate information across internal schedules and financial trackers.
- Monitor project costs against contracted amounts and review direct costs shared across projects and clients.
- Set up and track new employees and subcontractors, including hours, expenses, and bill rates, and forecast future subcontractor costs with input from project leads.
- Review expense reports, invoices, and credit card transactions to ensure appropriate approvals and accurate assignment to billable projects.
- Identify, allocate, and review intercompany transactions.
- Support annual budgeting activities, including relevant P&L budget line items and other ad hoc financial projects.
- Review and reconcile supporting documentation required for annual audits.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that improve departmental workflows and efficiency.
- Mentor and advise junior finance staff on client-finance best practices and support their professional development.
- Assist with monthly close activities and preparation of required financial materials.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, project accounting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information and translating data into meaningful financial insights.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a strong focus on deadlines, accuracy, and accountability.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across different levels of an organization.

- Professional services or agency experience is preferred.
- Experience with month-end close, revenue recognition, project accounting, or client-facing finance activities is preferred.
- Annual compensation range of $83,000–$105,000 USD.
