This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Clinical Data Science Programmer based in Canada.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced clinical data programming professional supporting the design and delivery of clinical trial data solutions.
The role combines technical expertise, clinical data knowledge, and strong stakeholder collaboration to translate protocols and customer requirements into effective system designs.
You will contribute to programming solutions across clinical data management systems, electronic case report forms, validation outputs, analytics, reporting, and external vendor data.
Your work will directly support data quality, consistency, and efficient data management throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
You will collaborate with data managers, project managers, clinical data scientists, biostatisticians, and other specialists in a highly cross-functional environment.
The position also provides opportunities to mentor junior programmers, contribute to technical improvements, and share knowledge across the programming community.
As a subject matter expert, you will help introduce better tools, processes, and programming practices that improve operational efficiency and delivery quality.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, validate, and maintain programming solutions for clinical data management systems, including EDC platforms such as Rave and Veeva, as well as data validation, data review, risk management, custom reporting, and clinical trial outputs.
- Collaborate with data managers, project managers, clinical data scientists, biostatisticians, and other stakeholders to ensure programming solutions are effectively integrated into the broader data management process.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for system programming questions during study setup and maintenance, providing timely technical guidance to project teams.
- Perform data extracts from clinical data management systems and develop data transfer programs to support clinical trial requirements.
- Develop and maintain programs for processing and managing data received from external vendors.
- Support knowledge sharing through presentations, training materials, and other initiatives within the programming community.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior programmers assigned to projects, helping strengthen technical capabilities and delivery quality.
- Contribute as a subject matter expert to the development and implementation of improvements to technical systems, processes, and programming practices.
- Stay current with advancements in programming languages and clinical data management technologies to identify opportunities for increased operational efficiency.
- Bring 5+ years of experience programming for clinical data management systems, including EDC platforms such as Rave or Veeva, with experience in data validation, data review and risk management outputs, custom reports, and clinical trial programming.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data analytics and programming languages such as SAS, R, and/or Python.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a consistent focus on delivering accurate and high-quality results.
- Bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and positively influence outcomes.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
