Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role
IND Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, automate, operate, secure, and continuously improve our AWS-hosted platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role with ownership of AWS infrastructure, Amazon EKS, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD, cloud databases, messaging and streaming services, monitoring, security, backup, disaster recovery, and production incident response. You will work closely with software engineering, platform, security, and on-premises infrastructure teams to ensure that our cloud services are secure, scalable, observable, and recoverable.
Key responsibilities
Design, provision, operate, and troubleshoot production and non-production AWS environments
Deploy, administer, upgrade, scale, and troubleshoot Amazon EKS clusters and manage EKS node groups, cluster add-ons, networking, storage drivers, authentication, and access controls
Implement and maintain GitOps-based application delivery using ArgoCD, including managing applications, projects, repositories, and environment promotion
Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt, building reusable modules for VPC networking, EKS, IAM, RDS, Aurora, S3, EBS, load balancers, Route 53, security groups, monitoring, and backup and recovery
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions to automate application builds, testing, security checks, Docker image creation, publishing, and deployment
Operate and support PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, including database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automated backup and restoration verification
Administer and troubleshoot Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka, manage brokers, topics, partitions, and monitor broker health, throughput, and consumer lag
Operate monitoring and observability solutions using Amazon CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki, building dashboards and configuring alerts for infrastructure, Kubernetes, databases, and applications
Apply least-privilege controls across AWS, EKS, GitHub, and platform services, securely manage credentials and secrets, and support encryption controls for data at rest and in transit
Develop infrastructure and operational automation using Python and Bash, develop and maintain AWS disaster-recovery procedures, and lead or participate in production incident response
About you
Strong experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar role
Strong hands-on experience designing and operating AWS environments
Production experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes
Strong experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, VPC, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Data Firehose, Systems Manager, Route 53, IAM, Elastic Load Balancing, and ECR
Experience with Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka and Amazon Kinesis
Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform
Practical experience with Terragrunt or an equivalent Terraform orchestration approach
Strong Python and Bash scripting skills
Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
Experience administering and troubleshooting PostgreSQL
