Senior Cloud Engineer

Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable cloud infrastructure within a regulated banking/fintech environment. This role is critical to supporting digital banking platforms, ensuring high availability, data security, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the security, engineering and risk teams to build resilient cloud solutions that meet the demands of a modern financial services company.

Main Responsibilities
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues
• Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant systems
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and policies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to support application deployment
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity initiatives
• Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Implement infrastructure for AI services (e.g., model hosting, data pipelines)
• Support deployment, scaling, and monitoring of AI/ML workloads in cloud environments

Education and Experience:
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of networking, VPCs, firewalls, and secure architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud in production environments
• 6 - 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 2 - 3 years in a senior or lead role
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates)
• Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and risk management in financial services
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with serverless and event-driven architecture
• Experience with core banking systems or fintech platforms
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (Basel, GDPR, FFIEC, etc.)
• Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Experience with zero-trust architecture and identity management solutions
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
