Senior Cloud Engineer / Consultant (Ref 26414)
Summary
Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS/Azure, using Java/C#/Python/JS/Go, and automate CI/CD pipelines with Terraform and GitHub Actions.
Responsibilities
Software Application Development
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and backend services.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Perform code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
Cloud Application Development
• Develop and deploy applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
• Work with cloud services such as:
• AWS: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS/SNS.
• Azure: App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, API Management, Azure Monitor, Key Vault.
• Design applications to take advantage of cloud scalability, availability, resiliency, and security.
• Implement cloud-native and/or containerized application architectures.
• Configure and manage application environments across development, testing, staging, and production.
DevOps and CI/CD
• Work with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Use tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep/ARM templates.
• Monitor application deployments and resolve deployment-related issues.
Collaboration and Documentation
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and software development activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, API documentation, deployment guides, and system design documentation.
• Contribute to technical standards, coding guidelines, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in software application development.
• Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as:
• Java
• C#
• Python
• JavaScript/TypeScript
• Go
• Experience developing REST APIs, web applications, backend services, or microservices.
• Practical experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Good understanding of cloud computing concepts, including:
• Compute
• Storage
• Networking
• Databases
• IAM/security
• Monitoring and logging
• Scalability and high availability
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and automated software deployment.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and testing practices.
