Senior Cloud Engineer

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will become a key contributor within a Scrum-based product team, partnering closely with Product Owners, engineers, architects, and scientific stakeholders to translate complex needs into robust technical solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.

• Provisioning and troubleshooting cloud environments primarily within AWS, using modern infrastructure-as-code approaches such as CDK and Terraform.

• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.

• Supporting the team with technical analysis, solution design, and cloud engineering expertise.

• Contributing to user story refinement and feature development from a technical perspective.

• Establishing and promoting cloud engineering best practices, automation, security, and DevOps principles.

• Collaborating with stakeholders through workshops and discussions to deliver innovative solutions.

• Sharing knowledge, supporting teammates, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a technically skilled and collaborative Cloud Engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and thrives in an agile environment.

You bring:

• A degree or equivalent background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including servers, networking, databases, and security.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices, including CI/CD.

• Comfortable working with scripting and software development concepts.

• Knowledge of tools and technologies such as Terraform, CDK, TypeScript, GitHub, or Azure DevOps is an advantage.

• Understanding of IT security principles, access management, and permissions.

• Experience working in agile teams and familiarity with Scrum ways of working.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate scientific or business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, architecture, and product teams.

Experience with scientific software solutions, histology, or high-content screening imaging data is a plus—but curiosity and the ability to learn are equally valued.
