Senior Cloud Engineers - NV1 - Azure & DevSecOps
Charterhouse is seeking two Senior Cloud Engineers to support a federal government agency's migration of a key document management platform to Microsoft Azure.
These are hands-on senior roles, combining platform design and delivery with automation, security and technical leadership. You'll work closely with architects, developers and security specialists to build a secure, resilient Azure environment and help establish the agency's ongoing operational capability.
Must have NV1 & Canberra based
Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise Azure platform services, including landing zones, networking, identity, monitoring and governance.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform or similar tools.
- Support migration from legacy hosting to Azure PaaS, including Azure App Services and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, embedding automation and DevSecOps practices.
- Implement security, backup, disaster recovery and data protection controls aligned with government requirements.
- Support IRAP assessments, security remediation and Authority to Operate readiness.
- Produce technical documentation and operational procedures, and transfer knowledge to internal teams.
- Monitor cloud consumption and identify opportunities to improve cost, performance and reliability.
- Strong hands-on Azure cloud engineering experience, ideally five or more years.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Experience designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms in complex or regulated environments.
- Sound understanding of Australian Government security frameworks and assurance processes, including ISM, PSPF and IRAP.
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
- Experience mentoring technical staff and building internal capability.
