Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer- Q
Summary
Senior engineer on Apple's Q team in Herzliya who independently leads delivery of cloud infrastructure, backend services, CI/CD pipelines, and observability for products combining ML, hardware, and software. Fully onsite; core stack includes AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins/ArgoCD, Pulumi, Python/Bash/Go, and Prometheus.

We are looking for someone who operates independently and leads projects, not someone who waits to be handed a task. You will be part of a development team, working closely with the central Platform Engineering group to deliver reliable cloud infrastructure, backend services, pipelines, and observability for the team's products. You will collaborate with developers and mentor other engineers along the way. This role is fully onsite.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, backend, DevOps, or SRE engineering
- Strong experience with Jenkins and ArgoCD (CI/CD and GitOps)
- Strong experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with AWS and the AWS SDK
- Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Pulumi
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, including building backend services and automation; experience with Go
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN, TLS)
- Experience with Prometheus for monitoring and alerting
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of independently leading infrastructure projects end-to-end: defining scope, designing the architecture, and driving execution through to delivery
- Experience designing and operating distributed backend services in the cloud
- Experience with VictoriaMetrics (advantage)
- Experience with Grafana and distributed tracing/logging stacks such as OpenTelemetry
- Experience supporting both macOS and Linux build and runtime environments (advantage)
- Experience with debugging across platforms and performance optimization in distributed systems
- Strong analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring or guiding peers and working in a matrixed model with a central platform team
- Proficiency in Git and modern development workflows
