Job Overview

VaporVM is seeking a Senior Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on AWS cloud security, DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, and the protection of modern cloud-native environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening cloud security architecture, securing CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and implementing security monitoring and incident response capabilities. The position requires hands‑on expertise in AWS services, identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, and container security.

Candidates should have strong technical skills across cloud security, DevOps automation, and security operations. Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and CIS Benchmarks is important, while AWS professional or security certifications, multi-cloud experience, and exposure to regulated environments are advantageous. Applicants must currently be based in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

AWS Cloud Security and Architecture

• Design and secure scalable, highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Implement security controls for AWS IAM, IAM Identity Center, VPC, KMS, encryption, and secrets management.
• Support monitoring, disaster recovery, and multi-region resilience.

DevSecOps and Infrastructure Automation

• Implement DevSecOps practices and secure CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins.
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Apply GitOps practices and automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Security Operations and Threat Management

• Implement SIEM/SOAR capabilities, threat detection, incident response, and centralized logging.
• Manage vulnerabilities, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and cloud security posture management (CSPM).
• Work with tools such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, and Wiz.
• Secure Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS environments.

Compliance and Governance

• Support compliance with NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and applicable FedRAMP requirements.
• Strengthen security monitoring, incident response, and cloud governance practices.
• Help maintain secure and resilient cloud environments.

Requirements and Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience in AWS cloud security and architecture.
• Expertise in IAM, VPC, KMS, encryption, and secrets management.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps.
• Proficiency in Terraform and CloudFormation; Ansible experience is required as part of the stated skill set.
• Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR, EDR, CSPM, and vulnerability management.
• Experience securing Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of security monitoring, incident response, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.
• Must currently be based in the UAE.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Security – Specialty certification.
• Azure or multi-cloud experience.
• Experience in regulated environments and FedRAMP compliance.
• Exposure to AI/ML security.
