The Senior Commercial Lending Solutions Consultant will help financial institutions transform commercial lending operations through technology, industry expertise, and consultative solution design.
This client-facing role sits at the intersection of commercial banking, lending technology, pre-sales, and business transformation.
You will work directly with clients to understand lending objectives, identify operational challenges, and translate business requirements into practical solution designs.
The role spans workshops, solution architecture, implementation scoping, proposals, project estimation, and commercial discussions.
You will collaborate closely with sales, delivery, and product teams to shape successful engagements and ensure a strong transition into implementation.
The position also provides an opportunity to influence product strategy and help financial institutions adopt data-driven and AI-enabled approaches to lending efficiency and risk management.
Accountabilities:
- Partner with financial institution clients and internal stakeholders to design commercial lending solutions that address business objectives, operational requirements, risk considerations, and desired customer outcomes.
- Establish a comprehensive understanding of customer lending goals, current processes, operational challenges, technology environments, and future business priorities to inform effective solution strategies.
- Facilitate business requirements and solution design workshops focused on commercial loan origination, underwriting, portfolio management, and related lending workflows.
- Lead and support solution design activities by evaluating alternative approaches, developing recommendations, and clearly communicating proposed solutions to internal teams, clients, and executive stakeholders.
- Define implementation scope, process flows, project estimates, timelines, assumptions, dependencies, and other documentation required to support successful client engagements.
- Support commercial discussions covering project scope, technical capabilities, implementation approaches, customer expectations, delivery considerations, and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, sales professionals, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to formalize engagements and ensure effective handoffs into implementation and delivery.
- Develop proposals, statements of work, and responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other sales-support materials, translating complex lending and technology requirements into compelling and actionable solutions.
- Share commercial lending best practices and industry insights while contributing to knowledge-sharing sessions, product improvement initiatives, and internal and external enablement activities.
- Identify opportunities to apply artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to lending workflows, helping clients and internal teams improve efficiency while maintaining appropriate risk management and responsible-use practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience, with fluency in English required; Spanish or French language capabilities are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending workflows, including loan origination, underwriting, risk rating, portfolio management, due diligence, loan documentation, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Know Your Business (KYB) processes.
- Professional experience in commercial banking, commercial credit, pre-sales, customer success, technical consulting, or another client-facing role involving complex financial or technology solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead client workshops, gather and synthesize business requirements, and translate customer needs into high-level functional solution designs.
- Experience supporting solution design, project scoping, implementation estimation, proposal development, RFP/RFI responses, statements of work, and contract or commercial discussions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence executive-level audiences and explain complex technical, lending, and business concepts clearly.
- Experience with commercial lending, loan origination, or credit risk technology platforms is preferred; familiarity with reporting tools, database technologies, and banking system architectures is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and project-management abilities, with exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, initiative, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Demonstrated proficiency with artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, or address business challenges.
- Ability to evaluate AI opportunities thoughtfully, with growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible, ethical, and scalable use of AI technologies.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across sales, product, delivery, technology, and client organizations in complex and evolving environments.
- Anticipated base salary of $119,100–$172,650 USD annually, with the final offer depending on factors including experience, education, skills, level, and location.
