  • Band 7 – salary commencing from $112,111 per annum + 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
  • Monthly RDO available

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Activity Centre and Economic Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping the future of community infrastructure across Moonee Valley through strategic planning, evidence-based analysis and collaborative project delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner who enjoys solving complex challenges, working across diverse stakeholders and influencing long-term investment in community facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake community infrastructure planning and needs analysis to inform future community facility provision.
  • Develop evidence-based business cases and identify innovative solutions for community infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain and analyse data to support strategic planning, asset management and investment decisions.
  • Provide specialist advice on community infrastructure planning across Council.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, service providers and the community.
  • Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of community facilities to inform renewal, upgrade and future planning.
  • Supervise and support the Community Infrastructure Planner.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Strategic Planning, Social Sciences or a related discipline, or extensive experience in community infrastructure planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic community infrastructure planning, policy development and needs analysis.
  • Experience developing business cases and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong analytical, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles and community infrastructure planning within a local government environment is highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
