Senior Competition Lawyer

Salary: £95,000 + (DOE)

We’re working with a leading UK law firm looking to appoint a Senior Competition Lawyer to develop and lead a new competition litigation workstream.

This is a strategic opportunity to build a claimant side competition practice within a firm that already has a strong track record in group actions, complex claimant litigation and funded claims. It is not a role for someone looking to inherit an existing caseload. It is a chance for an ambitious and experienced competition lawyer to shape a new practice area from an early stage, backed by an established claimant litigation platform and a clear strategic commitment to growth.

The Role

You’ll play a leading role in assessing potential claims, shaping case strategy and building the team, infrastructure and market profile needed to grow this area. You’ll work closely with counsel, economists and funders on matters including:

• Competition damages claims
• Funded litigation
• Collective proceedings before the Competition Appeal Tribunal
• Opt in and opt out collective proceedings
• Follow on and standalone claims
• Cases requiring close collaboration with class representatives

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is an experienced and senior competition lawyer
• Has strong claimant side competition litigation experience
• Has a track record in group actions, funded claims or collective proceedings
• Is comfortable working with counsel, economists, funders and class representatives
• Has the commercial awareness and ambition to build a new practice from the ground up
• Can develop and lead a team and raise the profile of the practice in the market
• Is looking for a long term opportunity with genuine strategic backing
