Senior Construction Manager | Building Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead all construction activities for a major building project in Qatar - Leading Main Contractor.

The Construction Manager will have overall responsibility for site execution, construction planning, resource management, subcontractor coordination, productivity, safety, quality, and timely project delivery. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will lead all site construction teams and ensure that the project is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the approved programme and contract requirements.

This role requires a highly experienced construction professional with a proven background in delivering complex building projects for leading main contractors.

• Lead and manage all site construction activities from commencement through project completion.
• Develop construction strategies, work sequences, and execution plans aligned with the project programme.
• Manage site teams including Construction Managers, Project and Site Engineers, General Foremen, Foremen, Supervisors, Field Staff, etc.
• Direct and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of works.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and Commercial departments.
• Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions to recover delays.
• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, and construction resources.
• Lead daily, weekly, and monthly construction coordination meetings.
• Review construction schedules and identify potential risks and mitigation measures.
• Resolve construction and site-related issues promptly.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and contractual compliance.
• Ensure all inspections are completed and work fronts are handed over in accordance with project requirements.
• Promote and enforce the highest standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping across the project.
• Participate in project reporting, management reviews, and client meetings.
• Support commissioning, snagging, testing, and project handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 18–20 years of experience in building construction.
• Minimum 12 years in a senior site leadership role with leading main contractors.
• Proven experience managing large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, or high-rise building projects.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
• Previous experience in Qatar or GCC is mandatory.

Other Qualifications

• MMUP (UPDA) registration in Qatar (preferred).
• PMP certification is an advantage.
• Experience delivering projects exceeding QAR 500 million (preferred).
• Familiarity with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), QatarEnergy and relevant local authority requirements.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies for reinforced concrete, structural steel, architectural finishes, and MEP interfaces.
• Excellent understanding of project scheduling and construction sequencing.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 schedules and construction reporting.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and project management software.
