Overview
An experienced senior construction supervisor is required to support major oil & gas projects, overseeing construction, installation, and commissioning activities. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project execution while coordinating contractors, managing risks, and driving progress across complex offshore and onshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
Construction management & supervision
Monitor and control contractor performance, manpower, equipment, and construction progress
Conduct daily and weekly coordination meetings with contractors, QA/QC, and HSE teams
Supervise construction activities across fabrication yards and offshore sites
Ensure all works are executed in line with approved standards, specifications, and procedures
Coordinate material inspections, submissions, and construction documentation
Project coordination & reporting
Review and validate contractor progress reports and provide updates to management
Liaise with engineering teams throughout design, procurement, and construction phases
Participate in reviewing drawings, method statements, lifting plans, and schedules
Maintain daily site records, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions
Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies
Risk management & compliance
Act as construction risk focal point, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures
Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and safety regulations
Monitor adherence to quality, environmental, and HSE standards
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including walkdowns and system checks
Interface & stakeholder management
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments
Support mobilization and demobilization of offshore personnel and equipment
Liaise with production and maintenance teams to resolve construction-related issues
Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment with contractual and operational requirements
Leadership & accountability
Take ownership of site construction activities, including outside normal working hours when required
Provide input to project decision-making within contract and company guidelines
Drive effective communication and coordination across multicultural teams
Qualifications
Higher national diploma (HND) or diploma in instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical engineering
Experience
10-12 years' experience in oil & gas construction and installation projects
Proven experience in offshore projects, including steel structures and commissioning
Strong background in piping, mechanical installation, and lifting operations
Experience in greenfield and brownfield project environments
Technical & Professional Skills
Strong knowledge of construction best practices, systems, and standards
Ability to review and interpret drawings, method statements, and inspection plans
Solid understanding of lifting plans and operations
Strong risk assessment and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
Computer literate with good reporting and documentation skills
