Senior Consultant - Asset Management (RAMS Consultant)
The RAMS Engineer will support development of maintenance strategies, reliability analyses, and asset optimisation studies across energy and critical infrastructure projects. The role combines engineering judgement with quantitative modelling to improve reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance.
1. Maintenance Strategy Development
- Develop and review maintenance strategies including:
- Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM)
- Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)
- Risk-Based Maintenance
- Align strategies with asset lifecycle, criticality, and operational objectives
2. RAMS Analysis & Modelling
- Perform:
- Reliability, Availability, Maintainability analysis
- Availability modelling and downtime analysis
- Build RAM models using tools such as ReliaSoft or equivalent
- Support system-level performance analysis and optimisation
3. Failure & Criticality Analysis
- Conduct FMEA / FMECA studies
- Perform asset criticality assessments
- Identify key failure modes and reliability drivers
4. Asset Performance Optimisation
- Analyse operational and maintenance data to improve asset reliability
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and optimise performance
- Support lifecycle cost analysis and trade-off assessments
5. Client Delivery & Advisory
- Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations
- Support development of maintenance strategies for clients
- Contribute to TDD and advisory projects where reliability is a key focus
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical/Renewable engineering or equivalent
- Strong background in reliability engineering / RAMS
- Experience developing maintenance strategies
- Familiarity with RAM modelling tools (ReliaSoft, Isograph, etc.)
- Understanding of asset lifecycle, performance metrics, and risk
- Strong analytical capability
Desirable
- Experience in data centre or mission-critical infrastructure
- Knowledge of HOMER Pro or energy modelling tools
- Experience integrating RAMS outputs with digital analytics/asset systems.
