The SCADA Engineer will support delivery of SCADA, control, and communications workstreams across technical due diligence (TDD), FEED, and design projects. The role requires strong technical capability in system architecture, integration, and specification development across complex energy infrastructure projects.

1. Technical Due Diligence (TDD)

  • Assess SCADA, control systems, and communication architectures for energy projects
  • Review vendor documentation, design assumptions, and system configurations
  • Identify key risks relating to:
    • Integration
    • Data integrity
    • Control hierarchy
    • Interface complexity
  • Provide clear risk-based recommendations for clients

2. SCADA System Design & Specifications

  • Develop:
    • SCADA architecture diagrams
    • Functional specifications
    • Signal lists and data structures

    • Hardware (servers, RTUs, PLCs, networks)
    • Software platforms and historian systems
  • Ensure design meets project and grid requirements

3. Interface & Integration Management

  • Define data flows and interfaces between:
    • Plant systems
    • Grid operators
    • OEM systems
  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Identify and mitigate integration risks across multi-system environments

4. FEED & Detailed Design Support

  • Support design phases (30%, 60%, 90%) including:
    • Architecture definition
    • System layouts
    • Technical specifications
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure design is technically robust and OEM-agnostic where required

5. Commissioning & Validation (as required)

  • Support commissioning strategies and system validation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and functional requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong experience in SCADA systems, control systems, and communications
  • Experience in TDD, FEED, or design engineering
