About the Role:

As a senior consultant – data analyst within NYSTEC’s Policy & Program Strategic Solutions practice area, you will work with division directors and other project leads to support data analysis needs. Serving as a data analyst, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will be analyzing data, developing reports and dashboards, and translating findings into meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for reporting and analysis
• Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Excel or Tableau
• Translate analytical findings into business insights and requirements
• Document analytical approaches, assumptions, data sources, logic, and analytical methodologies
• Support both technical and non-technical stakeholders in understanding data outputs
• Align business needs with data solutions and reporting capabilities

About You:

Required Qualifications

• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Experience gathering and documenting requirements and processes
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a client-facing environment

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in healthcare, pharmacy programs, Medicaid, Long-Term Care (LTC), or EVV environments
• Experience developing SOPs and operational documentation
• Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, or ETL processes
• Relevant certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMP, or data analytics certifications)

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data analytics, public administration, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, or related roles
• Equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
