Senior Consultant-Government Advisory
About the Role;
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to anchor partnerships and lead business development initiatives in Nigeria. The role will engage with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), government ministries, donors, and development partners to provide strategic, technical, and advisory support. The senior consultant will focus on key thematic areas such as digital public finance management, agriculture, social protection, education, climate action, and digital public infrastructure (DPI).
Lead MSC’s partnerships with NGF, ministries, donors, and other stakeholders in Nigeria.
Drive business development initiatives aligned with Nigeria’s development priorities.
Provide technical and strategic advisory support in areas including public finance, agriculture, social protection, education, climate, and DPI.
Design and implement innovative, high-impact projects.
Build and sustain strong relationships with state and national stakeholders.
Support knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and representation of MSC in key forums.
Key SkillsStrong expertise in at least one of the focus areas (digital finance, agriculture, social protection, education, climate, or DPI).
Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills.
Proven ability in business development and proposal writing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advisory skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing and presentations.
Ability to work in multicultural, cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic environments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ professional experience, with a strong track record in consulting, development, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing development projects.
- Solid understanding of Nigeria’s development landscape and government structures.
- Prior experience working with donors, multi-laterals, and/or government institutions is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within Nigeria and internationally as required
- MBA or master’s in public finance, public policy, economics, social work, rural development, Agri-Business, public health, public administration, or related areas.
