About Nutanix Professional Services

The consulting services team within the Nutanix Professional Services organization in Japan plays a critical role in the success of our customers' Nutanix solution design and implementation.

Our consulting services department ensures project success by accompanying customers on their hybrid multi-cloud journey from pre-sales to post-sales.

Consulting Services Japan provides "full life cycle projects" that include assessment, design, implementation, integration, automation, and project management.

Through these services, we support the rapid adoption of Nutanix technology and realize a faster ROI. This is what we aim for as "True Customer Success."

As a result of these efforts, the Consulting Services Japan team has become one of the fastest-growing service organizations at Nutanix in Japan, the Asia-Pacific region, and globally.

We are currently looking for talented consultants to further strengthen our delivery structure.

Responsibilities

Key technical areas covered by our consultants in Japan include:

Hybrid multi-cloud technology, server virtualization/EUC in on-premises and/or public cloud environments, private IaaS, disaster recovery (DR), V2V migration, software-defined networking, virtual private cloud, file server and object storage, operational process automation (self-service), database service automation and lifecycle management, secondary storage, Nutanix Clusters on AWS and Azure, and integration with third-party software (EUC, hybrid cloud backup technology, etc.).

• Approximately 70% of time is spent on billable projects for customers, primarily within Japan.
• Planning and development of new consulting services suitable for the Japanese market.
• Limited participation in pre-sales activities, primarily as an SME (Subject Matter Expert).

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a consultant in the infrastructure field

  (Must have virtualization as a foundational skill, and experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes or public clouds like AWS/Azure)

• Native-level Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory.

• English reading and writing skills are mandatory (business-level listening and speaking are a plus).

• Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).

• Understanding of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, file/block/object storage, and DFS.

• Data protection technologies such as replication, snapshots, backup/restore, etc.

• Understanding of data center networking (L2/L3), general architecture, firewalls, etc.

• Hands-on ability to proactively handle customer requirements through to implementation.

• Strong customer orientation and ability to build relationships with a focus on customer satisfaction.

• Comfortable with whiteboarding sessions, PowerPoint presentations, and creating best practice documentation.

• Ability to lead requirement definition, design workshops, environment construction, unit/integration testing, and customer handover as a "hands-on practitioner" rather than an advisor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud-native experience with Kubernetes or AWS/Azure, based on on-premises infrastructure/virtualization.
• Experience with Microsoft virtualization technologies, Azure Pack, and AWS.
• Deep understanding of software-defined storage, focusing on distributed storage.
• Experience with workload migration (V2V).
• Experience with network virtualization using NSX or ACI.
• Experience with enterprise application virtualization such as SQL, Exchange, or Oracle.
• Experience using automation/orchestration tools such as VMware vCO, System Center Orchestrator, PowerShell, Python, Bash, Puppet, Chef, or OpenStack.
• Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCAP, VCIX, CCNA, CCIA, or RHCE.
• Experience working in a Professional Services/Consulting Services department at a Japanese SIer or software vendor.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

Director, Professional Services – Japan, Nutanix Japan

Joined in January 2019. I am building the Professional Services business from scratch, aiming to achieve success for all our customers by promoting the adoption of Nutanix technology and maximizing ROI in coordination with our license business.

I have over 25 years of experience in consulting services (Professional Services), education, and TAM services, with experience in both sales and delivery, in both management and field roles.

My greatest achievement is the references published as customer testimonials.

They clearly show how we provided value, and that is a source of pride for our team members.

For this position, we are looking for someone who has utilized the technologies mentioned above, faced customers directly, and demonstrated high delivery capabilities as a primary lead.

The Consulting Services function ensures success by engaging with customers in the pre-sales and post-sales stages by assisting in their hybrid multi-cloud journey.

The Consulting Services Japan function includes assessment, design, implementation, integration and automation services as well as project management as we call "full life cycle project". by doing those, the Consulting Services Japan help customers to accelerate the adoption of Nutanix technologies and help customers to obtain a faster ROI – That is, "True Customer Success"

Your Role

• Key technology which our Japan consultants deliver - hybrid multi cloud technology, on-premise and/or public cloud for Server Virtualization/End User Computing, Private IaaS, Disaster Recovery, V2V Migration, Software Defined Network, Virtual Private Cloud, File Server & Object Storage, Operational Processes Automation (Self-Service), Database Services Automation & Life Cycle Management, Secondary Storage, Nutanix Cluster on AWS and Azure, 3rd Party Software Integration (End User Computing, Hybrid Cloud Backup Technology)
• Billable Project work 70% of time, mainly within Japan.
• Practice Development and create new consulting service offerings which are suitable in Japan market. Participate in a limited pre-sales involvement to provide services overlay to the existing services sales motion primarily as a SME.

What You’ll Bring

• This position specifically requires a minimum 8 years of experience as a consultant in the infrastructure, virtualization as a baseline skillset, and Cloud Native such as Kubernetes, Public Cloud (AWS and/or Azure) experiences.
• Native level of spoken and written Japanese is mandatory
• Business level of listening and speaking English are preferred, but not mandatory, at least reading and writing English are mandatory

• "Lead" requirement gathering and design workshops, environment build and unit-test & integration test and handover to the client. all of those phases as a primary resource by "hands-on" (This is NOT providing advice or review only to SIer and/or customer as “advisory” consulting)
• A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory (A Bachelor of Science is preferred)
