Senior Control Electronics Engineer

Discussion

Summary

Senior engineer designing flight-critical control electronics for defense/aerospace vehicles — motor controllers, actuator drivers, and mixed-signal circuits. Owns hardware end to end: PCB design in Altium, bring-up, debugging, and integration with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams.

About the Role

Join a defense and aerospace hardware team designing real-time electronic control systems for flight vehicles. You will own flight-critical hardware from initial design through validation and integration.

What You'll Do

  • Design control electronics boards, including motor controllers, actuator drivers, and feedback and control loops.

  • Own hardware end to end, from PCB design and bring-up through debugging, integration, and production.

  • Develop microcontroller, microprocessor, and mixed-signal circuits for processing and real-time control.

  • Work with guidance, navigation and control, avionics, and flight software teams on system integration.

  • Define requirements and make technical decisions across the full hardware design.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to fifteen years of experience designing control or power electronics hardware, including motor drivers or actuator controllers.

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience designing, bringing up, and debugging control or power electronics PCB assemblies.

  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal circuits for motor drivers, power conversion, or precision control loops.

  • PCB design experience from schematic capture through layout. Altium is preferred.

  • Familiarity with ARM microcontrollers, embedded hardware, CAN, and tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink. Experience with DDR, FPGA, or embedded C is relevant.

  • Background in a fast-paced hardware environment, with flight hardware or high-reliability experience in aerospace, defense, or automotive a plus.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
