Summary

Designs flight-critical control electronics for hypersonic vehicles: motor controllers, actuator drivers, and mixed-signal circuits, owning PCB design through bring-up, validation, and production readiness. Tooling spans Altium, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, ARM MCUs, CAN, FPGA, and embedded C. On-site in Rio Rancho, NM.

About the Role

Join a fast-moving team developing flight-critical control electronics for hypersonic vehicles. You will own hardware from initial design through testing and integration, working closely with avionics, guidance, navigation, and control, and flight software teams.

What You'll Do

  • Design control electronics boards, including motor controllers, actuator drivers, and feedback and control circuits.

  • Own PCB design, hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, integration, and production readiness.

  • Develop systems using microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal circuits for real-time processing and control.

  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate electronics into flight systems.

  • Define hardware requirements and make technical decisions across the design lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to 15 years of experience designing control or power electronics hardware, including motor drivers or actuator controllers.

  • A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience designing, bringing up, and debugging control or power electronics PCB assemblies.

  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal circuits for motor drivers, power conversion, or precision control loops.

  • PCB design experience from schematic capture through layout; Altium is preferred.

  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, ARM microcontrollers, CAN, DDR, FPGA, and embedded C.

  • Background in flight hardware or other high-reliability systems, such as aerospace, defense, or automotive, and experience in a startup or fast-paced hardware environment.

  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
