About the opportunity

A prominent multinational group is seeking an accomplished lawyer with strong disputes and EPC experience to join its senior legal leadership team. This is a highly visible role covering complex contentious matters, major projects and high-value commercial arrangements.

The role

As Legal Director, you will act as a trusted adviser to senior management, taking the lead on significant disputes and claims while providing strategic legal support across the full lifecycle of EPC and other major projects.

Key responsibilities

Lead the strategy and management of complex commercial disputes, arbitration and litigation across multiple jurisdictions.

Advise on EPC-related claims involving delays, variations, performance, payment, defects and termination.

Draft, review and negotiate EPC, procurement and other high-value commercial agreements.

Work closely with project and business teams to identify and manage contractual risks.

Manage external counsel, experts and dispute-related costs.

Advise senior stakeholders on broader commercial, governance and regulatory matters.

Strengthen legal processes, contract-management practices and internal capabilities.

Requirements

Qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of PQE.

Strong track record in complex commercial disputes, arbitration and litigation.

Substantial experience advising on EPC contracts and project-related claims.

Experience within a major projects, engineering, construction or other asset-intensive environment would be advantageous.

Commercially astute, solutions-oriented and confident advising senior stakeholders.

Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
