Senior Credit Manager Policy

You will design credit risk policies, procedures, and strategies for retail lending products. You will validate underwriting strategies, manage credit limits and risk-based pricing, adjust portfolio returns as new data emerges, support budgeting and forecasting, monitor credit KPIs, implement operational improvements, and maintain strong governance with risk functions and regulators.
Responsibilities
- Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks
- Make data-driven marginal credit decisions
- Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, retention strategies, and over-limit policies
- Adjust risk-return requirements and portfolio returns as new data becomes available
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
- Track initiatives, communicate performance insights, and monitor credit KPIs
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement small-scale departmental changes
- Ensure approval and strong ratings from risk functions and regulators
Requirements
- Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products such as credit cards and unsecured personal loans
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as engineering, statistics, physics, mathematics, economics, or management
- Understanding of credit policy governance frameworks and second- and third-line risk processes
- Track record of delivering results that exceed requirements
- Forward-thinking approach to planning and issue resolution
- Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models for retail credit products
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply
- Understanding of speed-to-market considerations and business needs
