Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Cribl Engineer to design, implement and support enterprise telemetry pipelines. The candidate will manage the collection, processing and routing of logs, metrics and events to security, observability and storage platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Cribl Stream environments, including sources, destinations, routes, pipelines and packs.
- Develop processing rules to parse, filter, enrich, mask and transform telemetry data.
- Integrate data sources and destinations such as Splunk, Elastic, Amazon S3, Kafka and enterprise SIEM platforms.
- Configure Cribl Edge for telemetry collection where required.
- Design scalable deployments with appropriate availability, load balancing and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot ingestion failures, parsing errors, data loss, backpressure and delivery issues.
- Optimise data volumes and routing to control downstream ingestion and storage costs.
- Implement access controls, TLS and sensitive-data handling requirements.
- Automate configuration and deployment using APIs, scripts and version control.
- Prepare architecture documents, operational procedures and knowledge-transfer material.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience across observability, logging, SIEM, infrastructure or data engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience implementing and administering Cribl Stream.
- Experience with sources, destinations, routes, pipelines, packs, lookups and worker groups.
- Strong knowledge of log parsing, regular expressions, JSON and JavaScript expressions.
- Experience integrating Cribl with Splunk or other SIEM/observability platforms.
- Working knowledge of Linux, networking, HTTP, TCP/UDP, syslog and TLS.
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash or JavaScript.
- Experience troubleshooting production telemetry pipelines and performance issues.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Cribl Edge or Cribl Search.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and security operations use cases.
- Relevant Cribl or Splunk certifications.
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
