Senior Cryptocurrency Intelligence Scientist
You will investigate complex on-chain criminal activity, develop cryptocurrency intelligence through data science and blockchain analytics, lead research projects, improve attribution coverage, build analytical tooling, communicate findings to varied audiences, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and mentor junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Develop an expert understanding of on-chain identity and behavioural signals
- Lead complex research and investigation efforts
- Evaluate attribution coverage and prioritize intelligence collection
- Develop processes and tooling for heuristic development
- Monitor cryptocurrency criminal typologies and obfuscation techniques
- Summarize conclusions in reports and briefings
- Deliver actionable intelligence to government partners and the crypto industry
- Build internal and external working relationships
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues
Requirements
- Data science fundamentals
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python
- Expert proficiency across layer 1 and layer 2 blockchains
- Experience bridging cryptocurrency between chains
- Experience self-custodying cryptocurrency
- OSINT techniques
- Structured analytic techniques
- Ability to communicate uncertainty
- Previous security clearance or ability to obtain UK or US security clearance
- Ability to apply AI tools to intelligence analysis workflows
