Are you an experienced Cyber Security Risk professional looking to work on complex, high-profile technology initiatives? Join a leading government program where you will play a key role in assessing cyber risk across cloud, AI, enterprise systems, and critical mainframe environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to influence security outcomes, engage with senior executive stakeholders, and contribute to the security governance of some of Australia's most significant technology investments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) and Security Impact Assessments (SIAs).
  • Assess cyber risks across cloud, AI, enterprise and legacy technology environments.
  • Develop risk treatment plans and security control recommendations.
  • Support Security Approval to Operate (SATO), accreditation and authorisation processes.
  • Review IRAP assessments, penetration testing reports, SOC1 and SOC2 reports.
  • Assess third-party vendor security risks and compliance obligations.
  • Provide cyber security advice to project teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, risk assessments and executive briefings.
  • Deliver assessments within tight timeframes while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Skills & Experience
  • Strong Cyber Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting SRAs and SIAs.
  • Strong understanding of the ISM, PSPF, NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Experience with IRAP, security accreditation and authorisation processes.
  • Cloud security experience across AWS, Azure and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience assessing risks associated with AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot and emerging AI technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Highly Regarded

Experience working with mainframe environments, including:
  • Mainframe modernisation and migration programs.
  • Security risk assessments involving IBM Mainframe environments.
  • Understanding of technologies such as DB2, Rocket Security, CICS, AutoSys and COBOL.
  • Assessing security risks across interconnected mainframe, internet and mid-range environments.
