Senior Cybersecurity Consultant

Summary

The Senior Cybersecurity Consultant will manage end-to-end GRC engagements for a diverse range of clients, including risk assessments, audits, and documentation. This role requires a blend of technical security expertise, client relationship management, and business development to drive growth within the New Zealand market.

For this role, it is a must have that you are already based in the Wellington region, with a valid work visa or permanent right to work.

You are a proactive, collaborative, results orientated Senior Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) specialist who is extremely driven, with good commercial acumen, looking for an autonomous role with variety, where you can utilise your creative thinking, solutions focus and GRC skills.

As one of our Wellington based Senior GRC Consultants you will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity consulting, and knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and industry best practices, to ensure you succeed in this role.

The role

This is a fast-paced and varied role within our Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) team in Wellington. Due to the level of skills required for meeting the expectations of our clients, this particular position is for a Senior Consultant within our team. (Our structure is Associate, Consultant, Senior, Managing, Lead, Principal, Director)

You’ll be working closely with an exciting range of clients across New Zealand and Australia, from small kiwi-owned businesses to well-known public sector organisations to NZX/ASX listed enterprises and everything in between.

You’ll be involved in a wide variety of engagements including:

  • Scoping calls

  • Producing SoWs

  • Inception to delivery of engagements

  • Identifying new opportunities

  • Nurturing and maintaining client relationships

  • Security Risk Assessments

  • Documentation and Report Writing

  • Governance and Compliance Reviews

  • Certification and Accreditation Audits

  • IT Audit

  • General Consulting.

Who we’re looking for

You will have:

  • Cybersecurity knowledge: you have a passion for cybersecurity, and you’re able to clearly articulate security fundamentals. You’re familiar with penetration testing tools, and you might hold one or more security certifications.

  • Critical thinking skills: you’re skilled in analysing information, asking questions, and solving problems.

  • Service delivery skills: you manage your time effectively, you can take ownership of projects or tasks to deliver work on time, and you take the initiative to get stuff done.

  • Communication skills: you confidently communicate your knowledge to a range of people, whether that’s giving a presentation, talking on the phone, or writing a report or email.

  • Sales: there is a requirement for our Senior Consultants to identify new opportunities and have sales KPIs alongside your technical delivery. We can help you to develop your sales skills.

  • Leadership: as a Senior Consultant you enjoy mentoring more junior GRC team members.


Due to the nature of our work, this role requires a clean criminal record. Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal record check during the onboarding process.
