Senior Data Analyst / Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst / Engineer to support, stabilise and enhance an existing tactical data and reporting solution following production go-live.

This is a hybrid role combining Data Analysis, BI Development and Data Engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to improve reporting processes, reduce manual effort, resolve data issues and introduce greater automation across the solution.

The role is well suited to someone who is comfortable working both with business requirements and hands-on technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing reporting, data and operational processes.

• Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification.

• Reduce manual effort involved in data preparation and reporting.

• Support production reporting cycles following go-live.

• Investigate and resolve data and reporting issues.

• Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies.

• Refine, optimise and stabilise the existing tactical solution.

• Improve report quality, accuracy and operational reliability.

• Implement automated validation and reconciliation controls.

• Support User Acceptance Testing and business validation activities.

• Support the transition of reporting processes towards Power BI, where appropriate.

• Identify functional, data and reporting gaps within the current solution.

• Implement enhancements that improve usability and support ongoing business requirements.

• Document the solution, key processes and future enhancement opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database.

• Advanced SQL skills.

• Strong experience with Power BI.

• Data analysis and data profiling.

• Report development and optimisation.

• Data validation and reconciliation.

• Business requirements analysis.

• Testing and Quality Assurance.

• Report automation.

• Experience investigating data discrepancies and performing root cause analysis.

• Ability to work closely with both business and technical stakeholders.
