Te Tūranga – About the role
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Master Data Management (MDM) programme and help shape the future of data quality, help shape the future of master data, business processes and data quality outcomes across Foodies.
This newly created role will play a key part in ensuring our master data is accurate, trusted and fit for purpose. Working across data, systems and business processes, you'll partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, support the adoptions of sustainable controls and governance practices, and drive long-term data quality outcomes across the business. The role will continue to evolve as our MDM capability matures, offering the opportunity to take ownership of critical master data components and influence future ways of working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and analyse data, processes and systems to identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance and business outcomes.
- Lead data profiling, root cause analysis and remediation planning across large and complex datasets, identifying whether issues stem from data, systems or business processes.
- Support the development of business controls, data quality requirements and process improvements that help ensure master data remains accurate, trusted and fit for purpose
- Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Technology, Data Governance and business stakeholders to support data quality improvements, remediation initiatives and sustainable business outcomes.
- Develop and interpret data quality reporting, dashboards and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support business outcomes.

You'll be a naturally curious and commercially minded analyst who enjoys solving complex data and business process challenges. You'll combine strong analytical thinking with stakeholder engagement skills, using data-driven insights to influence outcomes, improve ways of working and deliver sustainable business value.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- At least 5 years' experience working in a data analysis, business analysis, data quality or similar role, ideally within retail, FMCG or a complex enterprise environment.
- Proven experience working with large and complex datasets, performing root cause analysis and delivering remediation outcomes.
- Strong analytical and technical capability, including advanced Excel, SQL and Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools.
- A sound understanding of Master Data Management, data governance, data ownership, business controls and process improvement practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to educate, influence and collaborate across both business and technical teams.
