About the Role
The Senior Data Analyst leverages deep expertise in statistical analysis, data modeling, and visualization to partner with business operations and drive data-driven insights. The senior analyst leads data efforts across strategic and tactical initiatives, translates strategic direction into actionable plans for junior staff, and drives problem-solving and decision-making for leaders. Additionally, this role leads our data modernization efforts, creating a scalable foundation using medallion data architecture and building AI-ready semantic layers within the AWS Snowflake environment.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Aggregate, clean, and structure large datasets (millions of records) for high-impact analytics initiatives.
- Execute data modernization strategies, designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data models and medallion data architecture—with an emphasis on building robust gold layer data objects.
- Create and maintain semantic layers within the AWS Snowflake ecosystem designed to seamlessly integrate with AI/ML tools and emerging technologies.
- Serve as a thought leader in database systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes, leveraging tools across AWS and Snowflake.
- Write, read, and optimize complex SQL queries, Python scripts, and query languages for data processing and analysis.
- Uncover trends and patterns to address critical business needs, such as operational efficiency and customer engagement.
- Lead the operation and ongoing enhancement of the Forth BI platform, including the design and development of data models, dashboards, and widgets.
- Lead junior analysts in performing analyses, providing team leadership, and summarizing insights for executives, managers, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- Support customer data use cases by leveraging BI tools to deliver actionable insights.
- Drive competitive market and product analysis through review of related products, market trends, and emerging AI/ML technologies.
- Assist the Director of Product and executive leadership in identifying, developing, and bringing to market new data-centric products.
- Present best practices and enhance internal processes relating to the data function.
- Perform daily duties in line with Forth, LLC Information Security Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure that information Confidentiality, Integrity and Privacy is always maintained with processing information assets.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Master’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s + relevant work experience).
- Proven technical experience in data modeling, building BI applications, and analyzing large-scale enterprise datasets.
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL and Python for data querying, manipulation, and script writing.
- Strong technical and personal leadership skills to mentor, guide, and develop a team of junior data analysts in a player/coach model.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- High detail orientation with an analytical mindset and methodical problem-solving approach.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Practical experience driving data modernization, including building medallion data architectures (specifically gold layer data objects).
- Demonstrated experience building semantic layers to enable AI tools, LLMs, or vector database applications.
- Deep hands-on experience within the AWS Snowflake product offering and modern data stack.
- Snowflake SnowPro or equivalent AWS/cloud data certifications.
- Prior leadership experience in a B2B or enterprise data environment.
- Experience assisting with the build and go-to-market strategy of commercial data products
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- $110,000-$130,000
