SENIOR DATA ANALYST

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for turning business data into actionable insights, dashboards, and analytical recommendations that improve revenue, cost efficiency, operational performance, and decision-making across the Group.

This role will work closely with the CDO, Lead Data Engineer, and business stakeholders acrosshaulage and land transportation, warehousing, workshop operations, and freight forwarding. The Senior Data Analyst will define KPIs, analyze business performance, build dashboards usingApache Superset, and identify opportunities for analytics and AI-driven improvements.

The ideal candidate should be commercially aware, highly analytical, comfortable with data storytelling, and able to bridge the gap between business problems and data solutions.

Business Analytics and Insights

The role is responsible for analyzing operational, financial, commercial, and customer data to identify business trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities across the Group. The analyst will generate insights and recommendations to support revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, asset utilization, service performance, and operational productivity. This includes conducting root-cause analysis on issues such as revenue leakage, margin erosion, high transport costs, warehouse inefficiency, workshop downtime, freight profitability gaps, and other business performance concerns.

KPI and Performance Management

The role will work closely with business stakeholders to define, standardize, and document key performance indicators across business functions, including revenue, gross margin, cost-to-serve, trip profitability, fleet utilization, empty miles, fuel consumption, driver productivity, warehouse occupancy, labor productivity, inventory movement, workshop turnaround time, vehicle downtime, maintenance cost, freight forwarding margin, customer profitability, and service level achievement. The analyst will maintain consistent KPI definitions and support the development of a business KPI dictionary to ensure one version of the truth across dashboards and reports.

Dashboard and BI Development

The analyst will design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Apache Superset or other BI tools, covering executive, management, and operational reporting needs. The role will work with the Lead Data Engineer to ensure dashboards are built on trusted and governed datasets, improve existing reporting processes, reduce dependency on manual Excel reports, and ensure dashboards are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with decision-making requirements.

Segment Analytics

The role will provide analytics across haulage, land transportation, warehousing, workshop operations, and freight forwarding. This includes analyzing route profitability, trip cost, fuel efficiency, vehicle utilization, driver performance, empty return trips, warehouse occupancy, storage revenue, throughput, inventory dwell time, maintenance cost, repair frequency, spare parts consumption, vehicle downtime, shipment profitability, carrier cost, quote-to-win performance, customer margin, trade lane performance, and service-level performance. The analyst will identify cost-saving opportunities, revenue leakage, underpriced jobs, process bottlenecks, margin improvement areas, and asset performance issues.

Advanced Analytics

The analyst will use SQL, Python, Excel, and analytical tools to perform deep-dive analysis and support advanced analytics opportunities such as forecasting, anomaly detection, cost prediction, route optimization, predictive maintenance, and pricing recommendations. The role will work with the CDO and Lead Data Engineer to prepare business requirements for AI or advanced analytics pilots and apply statistical and analytical techniques to support business decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and data storytelling skills, including working closely with business users to understand pain points, clarify decision-making needs, present insights in a practical and business-focused manner, facilitate discussions with operations, finance, commercial, and management teams, challenge unclear KPI definitions, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Data Quality and Governance

The analyst will support data quality and governance by validating dashboard numbers against source systems and business records, identifying data quality issues, working with the Lead Data Engineer to resolve them, documenting business rules, metric definitions, assumptions, and data limitations, and improving consistency and transparency in reporting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field.

Minimum5-8 years of experiencein data analytics, business intelligence, commercial analytics, operations analytics, or related roles.

Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, freight forwarding, supply chain, or manufacturing-related industries.

Understanding of transport operations, warehouse operations, fleet management, maintenance/workshop operations, or freight forwarding processes.

Experience with revenue, cost, margin, pricing, profitability, utilization, or productivity analysis.

Familiarity with data warehouse concepts, dimensional models, and curated data marts.

Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as forecasting, anomaly detection, prediction models, optimization, or generative AI tools.

Experience working in a newly established analytics function or transformation environment.

Strong SQL skills and ability to work with large datasets.

Experience building dashboards using BI tools such asApache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or equivalent.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good understanding of business KPIs, financial metrics, operational performance, and cost drivers.

Experience performing root-cause analysis and translating insights into business recommendations.

Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.

Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python or R is an advantage.

Ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
