We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Analytics & Innovation team. In this highly visible role, you'll work closely with business leaders, senior stakeholders and executives to transform data into actionable insights and deliver solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making.
You'll combine hands-on expertise across Azure, SQL and Power BI with strong business engagement skills, helping to shape analytics capability, drive innovation and support data-led outcomes across the organisation.
This is an initial 12-month fixed-term opportunity with the potential for permanency.

As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll work across the full analytics lifecycle—from data ingestion and modelling through to reporting, visualisation and business engagement. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll help stakeholders understand what the data is telling them, challenge assumptions where required, and ensure solutions are aligned to genuine business objectives.
You'll also contribute to innovation initiatives, including emerging AI opportunities, automation and modern analytics practices.

- Translate complex business challenges into analytical questions, insights and recommendations
- Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and self-service analytics solutions
- Develop and optimise data and semantic models to support business decision-making
- Collaborate across Microsoft Azure environments to support data ingestion, transformation and analytics delivery
- Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and define success measures
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor, using evidence-based insights to influence decisions and drive better business outcomes
- Identify opportunities to automate, optimise and modernise analytics capabilities
- Support innovation initiatives including experimentation, proof-of-concepts and AI-driven opportunities
- Strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure
- Advanced SQL expertise and experience working with complex datasets
- Demonstrated Power BI development and data visualisation experience
- Experience building robust data models and semantic models
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability and experience working with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to understand business objectives, challenge requirements constructively and deliver practical outcomes
- Microsoft Fabric experience or exposure
- Experience with AI technologies, automation initiatives or agent development
- Financial Services, Insurance or Superannuation experience
- Project management or project leadership experience
- Microsoft cloud certifications
