Role Description

The Factory Software team is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to bridge the gap between complex manufacturing data and actionable insights. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and ownership of the reporting, dashboards, and Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure that powers our factory operations. You will function as a key partner to our Factory teams, ensuring they have the high-quality, real-time data needed to optimize production and ensure manufacturing excellence. You will collaborate closely with Factory Software Dev, Data Engineering and Platform teams to leverage our on-prem and cloud infrastructure, building scalable solutions that enable a data-driven culture on the factory floor.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated reporting and interactive dashboards to provide critical visibility into factory performance and operational metrics.

  • Own the Business Intelligence (BI) space for the Factory Software team, acting as the primary point of contact for data requests and insights from factory stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Factory teams to understand their workflows and translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions and visualizations.

  • Build and optimize data models and transformations (e.g., using SQL and Python) to ensure factory data is structured for efficient reporting and analysis.

  • Establish and maintain standards for data quality, documentation, and dashboard performance to ensure "one version of the truth" across the manufacturing organization.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve data accessibility and provide technical support/training to internal users on self-service BI tools.

  • Liaise between manufacturing end-users and the broader Software team to drive the continuous improvement of our data systems and infrastructure.

What you'll bring:

  • 4+ years industry experience writing reusable code for data analysis

  • Experience using SQL and Python in a collaborative environment

  • Experience with exploratory and explanatory analysis of data from physical systems

  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of relaying technical information to non-technical stakeholders

  • Must be able to work independently with excellent time management, multi-tasking and the ability to assess and prioritize competing demands

  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or logistics environment working with software systems and end-users to support production operations is highly desirable

  • Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Operations, and Software)

  • Experience with Jira is a plus

  • Desire to learn and grow professionally in a fast-paced, startup environment

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field Computer Science, Data Engineering or equivalent work experience

Where you'll work:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
