Senior BI Analytics Engineer

About the Role

The Senior BI Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Business Intelligence and analytics solutions that provide accurate, timely, and actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation.

Operating within the Data, Analytics and AI chapter, this is a hands-on technical role sitting at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence. The role translates business requirements and complex questions into scalable, repeatable analytical solutions, with a strong focus on data modelling, reporting, dashboards, and enterprise analytics.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong professional experience in data analytics, Business Intelligence, reporting, or data-driven decision support roles.

• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.

• Proficiency in Python for analytical workflows.

• Strong hands-on experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar.

• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and enterprise reporting environments.

• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they integrate with the analytics layer.

• Experience defining and tracking business KPIs and performance metrics.

• Ability to translate business requirements into effective analytical and BI solutions.

• Experience applying data governance, reporting standards, and analytics best practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to bring structure to complex or poorly defined data problems.

• High standards for data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

Advantageous

• Experience working in retail, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environments.

• SAP reporting and analytics experience, including SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP ERP reporting.

• Exposure to advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled business solutions.

• Relevant professional certifications in BI, analytics, cloud, or data management.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise BI solutions, dashboards, and reports.

• Build scalable and repeatable analytical solutions that transform complex data into actionable business insights.

• Develop and optimise SQL queries for analytics and reporting.

• Design and maintain analytical and dimensional data models.

• Work with cloud data platforms and enterprise data warehouse environments.

• Translate business requirements into technical BI and analytics solutions.

• Develop reporting solutions that provide accurate, relevant, and repeatable insights.

• Support the definition and implementation of KPIs and performance measurement frameworks.

• Apply reporting, data governance, and analytics standards across BI solutions.

• Identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities within complex datasets.

• Support self-service analytics by developing reliable and reusable data models and reporting assets.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and other members of the Data, Analytics and AI chapter.

• Continuously improve the performance, quality, and scalability of BI and analytics solutions.
