Senior Data Architect – insurance (f/m/x)

Summary

Leads the design and implementation of scalable, secure data platforms for an insurance client, using Azure tools and Medallion Architecture while overseeing team development and governance.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to join our team and lead the design and development of data solutions for a transformation program of our client from the insurance sector. You will ensure data architecture consistency, define technical standards, oversee development work, and support business and analytical teams in building scalable, secure, and high-quality data products. This role is based in Warsaw with a hybrid work model (1 day a week from office).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, including 3–5 years in a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, Data Engineering Lead, or related role
  • Experience in designing and building data platforms in enterprise environments
  • Previous work on implementing leading core insurance systems for claims and benefits handling (EIS or Guidewire)
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and integration design
  • Knowledge of Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Practical experience with data platforms based on Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Event Hub
  • Very good knowledge of SQL and technologies for processing large volumes of data
  • Experience applying CI/CD practices, DevOps, and deployment automation
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and data security issues
  • Experience in technically leading teams and coordinating development work
  • High independence, responsibility, and ability to make technical decisions
  • Fluent Polish

Nice-to-have requirements

  • Previous work with AI/ML and preparing data for AI-based solutions
  • Experience in designing event-driven architectures
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certifications
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh concepts and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
