Your Superpower\: Designing scalable data architectures that power the future

About Digital Factory

At Digital Factory, we pair the agility of a startup with the scale of a global company. As part of MOL Group’s 2030 Enter Tomorrow strategy, we’re transforming Consumer Services into a digital‑first, data‑driven mobility and retail business.

We’ve built a centralized Data Lake, deployed advanced analytics (across forecasting, pricing, category management, workforce optimization), and launched MOL MOVE – our digital loyalty platform used by millions across 9 countries.

Now, we’re expanding our data ecosystem even further, strengthening our engineering capabilities, and looking for a Senior Data Architect to help us build data products that scale across the region.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect who will shape the foundations of our data products and platforms. You’ll contribute across the entire data lifecycle – from conceptual architecture to hands‑on model design – ensuring our Data Squads deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.

This role combines architecture, technical leadership, and coaching\: you’ll design data structures, guide transformation logic, review code, ensure data quality, and support our transition to modern cloud‑based technologies like Synapse, Databricks, and Delta Lake.

If you’re passionate about data architecture, cloud platforms, and helping teams deliver robust analytics solutions, this role is for you.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and evolve robust, scalable data architectures aligned with business and digital transformation objectives

  • Build and optimize high‑performance data models for analytics

  • Act as a strategic partner to business and engineering teams to shape data solutions end‑to‑end

  • Lead data integration, transformation, and migration efforts

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security across systems

  • Design efficient data pipelines and workflows for large datasets

  • Continuously improve our cloud data tech stack (Synapse, Databricks, ADLS, ADF)

  • Maintain and evolve the enterprise data model, ensuring consistency and scalability across data products

  • Support discovery, assessment, and solution design activities for new data initiatives

  • Coach and guide Data Engineers and BI Developers on best practices

  • Support adoption of Databricks for advanced analytics and processing

  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and performance bottlenecks

  • Define code‑quality frameworks and architecture KPIs

About Your Experience and Skills

  • Education

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar

  • Experience

    • Deep experience designing and delivering scalable ETL/ELT processes

    • Strong background in cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS)

    • Hands‑on experience with data integration, modelling, migration, and performance tuning

    • Experience with requirements gathering, solution design, and business analysis

    • Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps

    • Ability to mentor developers and collaborate across functions and teams

  • Professional and Technical Competencies

    • Advanced SQL (optimization, tuning, complex queries)

    • Strong ETL knowledge (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar tools)

    • Data modeling techniques (dimensional, star schema, snowflake)

    • Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Databricks

    • Knowledge of NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Cassandra)

    • Scripting skills in Python and/or PowerShell

    • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE or similar

    • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud data services

    • Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks

    • Experience with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Sparx EA)

    • Comfortable with Jira and Confluence

  • Soft Skills

    • Analytical, curious, and always eager to improve what’s already good

    • Able to drive consensus among technical and non‑technical stakeholders

    • Clear communicator who can turn complex data topics into understandable insights

    • Highly organized and reliable – you bring structure even when things get messy

    • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

    • Strong sense of ownership and team mindset

    • Growth‑minded, proactive, and open to learning

    • Comfortable collaborating across cultures and countries
