Senior Data center Technician
The Data Center Technician (IC3) is a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME)responsible for advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, and cross-functional coordination. This role drives operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement across data center environments
Required Qualifications
• 4–7+ years of data center or infrastructure experience
• Strong expertise in:
o Hardware systems and diagnostics
o Linux/Windows systems administration
o Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting complex systems
• Willingness and ability to travel locally as required.
• Willingness and ability to travel out-of-state (up to 10% of the time).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with automation (Python, Ansible, scripting)
• Knowledge of cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Experience leading projects or technical teams
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and capacity planning tools
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical expert for data center systems and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex, multi-layer issues (hardware, OS, network, facilities)
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions
• Identify and address design and infrastructure gaps that pose a risk of service outages or downtime, ensuring system reliability and operational continuity.
• Lead response during critical incidents and outages
• Drive post-incident reviews and continuous improvement actions
• Develop strategies to improve uptime, reliability, and performance
• Identify and implement automation opportunities (scripting, tooling)
• Improve operational workflows and reduce manual effort
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies and best practices
• Mentor and develop IC1 and IC2 technicians
• Lead projects (deployments, upgrades, process improvements)
• Act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Coordinate with engineering, networking, compliance, and vendors
• Translate technical challenges into actionable solutions
• Influence decisions on infrastructure and operations strategy
• Ensure adherence to data center security standards and audits
• Support compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, SOC2)
