Senior Data Center Technician
Summary
Senior Data Center Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots critical infrastructure like cooling, power, and fire systems to ensure 100% uptime for colocation customers.
The Senior Data Center Technician (AMS) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of critical data center infrastructure supporting customer environments. This role serves as the technical lead on the data center floor, ensuring operational excellence, mentoring technicians, and maintaining the highest standards of uptime, safety, and customer service.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
- Monitorpower and environmentalconditionswithinall critical spaces within the facility.
- Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
- Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
- Escortandsupportoutsidecontractors,ensuring theyareabiding by SF work rules and processes
- Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/SOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
- Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
- Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
- Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
- Adhere to all local code electrical and safety law and requirements
- Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times
- Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
- Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Ensure up to date shift logs / Shift Handover documents are completed/kept at all times.
- Ensure the professional image of Serverfarm is presented to clients at all times
- Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works
- Participate in the Call-out schedule
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment
- Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
- Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy
- Operating and maintaining chilled water-cooling systems
- Operating and maintaining DX cooling systems
- Operating and maintaining backup electrical systems such as UPS and generators
- Operating Building Management systems and Fire alarm and detection systems
- Building facility maintenance
